Mark E. Glater, CPA is the founder and shareholder of Glater & Associates, P.A., a South Florida accounting and advisory firm specializing in corporate tax planning, multi-state tax strategy, and business consulting services for companies and their owners. Based in Weston, the firm helps organizations and entrepreneurial clients reduce tax exposure, improve profitability, and navigate complex financial and regulatory environments.
Mark holds both a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a Master of Taxation from Florida Atlantic University (FAU). A Florida-licensed Certified Public Accountant for more than two decades, he brings an extensive blend of “Big Six” public accounting experience and private industry leadership.
Before founding Glater & Associates, P.A, Mark worked at KPMG LLP and later at Deloitte & Touche LLP, advising clients ranging from closely held businesses to multinational corporations across the technology, manufacturing, and retail sectors. Before entering Big Six public accounting, he oversaw accounting, finance, and sales force operations at Glater Enterprises, Inc., a furniture-industry representation company focused on improving retailer operations and profitability.
At Glater & Associates, Mark employs a consultative, hands-on approach, taking the time to understand each client’s business objectives and personal financial goals. His areas of expertise include corporate tax planning, pass-through entity taxation, retirement strategies, business restructuring, and long-term strategic tax planning. Mark has also performed due diligence for buyers considering purchasing a new business or expanding their existing businesses. He works with strategic partners to provide his clients a team of consultants to advise on all aspects of deal structuring as well as corporate and personal wealth maximization. Mark has experience providing litigation support for attorneys and their clients in matters such as contract disputes, divorce, and other family law matters.
As an active member of his community, Mark volunteers his time by serving on several nonprofit boards and has contributed to the academic community as an adjunct professor at Florida Atlantic University, mentoring future business professionals. He is a current board member and past president of his synagogue, Temple Beth Emet, and he has been supporting his residential community as the president of Emerald Estates Homeowners Association for over 20 years.
Mark resides in Weston, Florida, with his wife, Michelle. He is the proud father of three—two adult daughters living in New York City and a son studying accounting at the University of Florida. Outside of work, Mark enjoys MLB baseball, NFL football, daily exercise, live music and travel.
